Located between Paris and the French Riviera, on the borders of Switzerland and Italy, the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region is at the crossroads of Europe. The 2nd largest region in France in terms of surface area and population, it is composed of 12 departments and offers an incredible diversity of landscapes. Between the Massif Central in the west and the Alps in the east, the Rhone valley extends to the Drôme department.
Thus, the landscapes vary and allow to pass from the volcanoes of Auvergne (Puy-de-Dôme), to the snow-covered massifs of the Alps (Mont-Blanc), passing by the numerous lakes (Léman, Annecy, Bourget) and national and regional parks, and up to the Mediterranean landscapes of the Ardèche and the Drôme.
