After the French defeat in the summer of 1940, Addi Ba, a young Senegalese rifleman, escapes and hides in the Vosges. With the help of some villagers, he obtains false papers that allow him to live in the open. Spotted by those who sought to act against the occupier and who did not yet call themselves “resistance fighters”, he participated in the founding of the first “maquis” in the region.
