THE CHAMELEON

Spain, 2000: a young man comes out of his silence. He says his name is Nicholas Mark Randall, that he is American and that he was kidnapped four years earlier by members of a cult. To the surprise of the Spanish police, who suspect him of being a recidivist impostor, his sister comes to get him and brings him back to the United States, to Louisiana, where his family seems to recognize him. Local media reports of this miraculous return alert the FBI whose agent, Jennifer Johnson, becomes increasingly suspicious of Nicholas’ true identity and the family’s surprising attitude.
The Chameleon is inspired by the true story of Frederic Bourdin, who was convicted several times for identity theft.
