DJANGO

In 1943 during the German occupation, the gypsy Django Reinhardt, a true “guitar hero”, was at the top of his game. Every night he thrilled the whole of Paris at the Folies Bergères with his swing music while in Europe his brothers were being hunted down and massacred. When the German propaganda wanted to send him to Berlin for a series of concerts, he felt the danger and decided to escape to Switzerland with the help of one of his admirers, Louise de Klerk. To get through, he went to Thonon-les-Bains, on the shores of Lake Geneva, with his pregnant wife, Naguine, and his mother Negros. But the escape is more complicated than expected, Django and his family are plunged into the war. During this dramatic period, he remains an exceptional musician who resists with his music, his humor, and who seeks to approach musical perfection…
